Lazy Sundays

Not too much going on today, we just hung around the house for the most part.  This afternoon while waiting for the grill to get hot, we went to one of the "common areas" in our subdivision. Ava likes walking around in bare feet in the grass and climbing the mini-hills:

Then we decided to make a great big lunch/dinner meal. One of my favorites: Costco’s ribeye steak and my famous grilled dijon blackened asparagus. I make a sauce of melter butter mixed with dijon mustard, then spread that over the asparugus spears, cut in half. Then salt and pepper them, then on to the grill.

Here’s the ribeys wih my special rub. I put the rub on about 30 minutes before griling:

I put the asparagus on about 5 minutes before the meat.

Then let things cook, watching the temp of the meat closely with the Thermapen thermometer.

Mmmm… steaks are almost done.

Finally the meat is done and it’s time to eat. Nothing beats the taste of charcoal grilled food. And a nice nap after eating this feast.
