Finally got the images and videos off our memory card of our day trip to Joseph, OR. Nana watched the girls for us as we set off that morning for about an hour flight.
Jenn is really a great co-pilot and has learned the secret that flying really isn’t that hard. Here she is taking us over Hells Canyon near Oxbow dam en route to Enterprise, OR
Just a great day for flying
There was a bit of a mixup at the airport. It seems the courtesy car that is normally available was in the shop for repairs. We brought our folding bikes though, and managed to ride around town and (by-accident) find the car dealer that the car was at, and to our surprise the repairs had been completed and we could take the car for the day.
We eventually made it to the lake with plans to rent a canoe for an hour or two. Unfortunately the boat rentals stopped for the year about a week earlier. So only fish-spotting from the dock for us…
After that we saw a place just down the road that had horseback rides. Jenn was willing to deal with her fear of horses and give it a go.
The guide took us on a loop of some surprisingly rough terrain with narrow switchbacks.
On the way back home a stray horse came down the mountain and decided to follow us home. Just having a stray horse behind really spooks the horses we were on.
And finally on the way back to the airport, we swung my one of my favorite breweries to grab a few bottles to take home.
Finally on the way back home. If you are wondering what Scott is doing, he is switching fuel tanks. (the valve is down by the pilot’s left foot)
